| What
or who do you lean on when you need help? Some turn to drink or drugs,
some turn to working non-stop. Are you one of those who feels it is
a sign of weakness to lean, and so you deny any weakness? Are other
peple leaning on you and that keeps you from acknowledging that you,
too, might need to lean, perhaps temporarily.
It is not a sign of weakness to need
to lean. There is a cartoon strip which shows the mother leaning on
a tree to regain balance. How does nature assist you? Often there
is such a string of one thing after another that needs to be done
that we do not see the need and little by little we wear ourselves
down until the body is crying for help.
Think of something that is pleasurable
that can help you find balance. Maybe the leaning you need is a simple
diversion, something to release the stress, but perhaps it is more
serious. Maybe the help you need is wearing you down, little by little
because you refuse to face it or acknowledge it. Don't let your need
for help get so overpowering that you suddenly lose your way, your
balance, your steadiness. Find a peaceful corner, take a walk, talk
with a friend, listen to soothing music, find an avenue to help you
keep track. It does not have to be something big, sometimes the little
things are the most powerful. Stop for a few moments and sigh a long
sigh, release the tension and let the mind rest. Remember, even warriors
must take a rest.
